Who Loves Ya?

I actually stole that line from my brother (in-law)’s company, LevLane Advertising . On their website (check it out), and on a big poster as you walk into their office, there’s a picture of a dog licking a woman’s face and a big sign that says, “Who Loves Ya?” I just love that. It says it all to me.

At West, we feel that way about our clients. Our philosophy is based on having compassion for our clients’ challenges, listening to their views and insights, and translating that into the best service and most compelling and strategic creative.

I remember when we hired one of our clients as an employee and the first thing she asked was, “Do you guys ever say, ‘No.’?” I had to really think about it. My answer was, “No, we don’t say no. We say we’ll do whatever is humanly possible.” And, that’s what we try to do every day.

We’ve been known to

* Work on two computers at once to get a comp out

* Have three account folks in the back of a van in traffic tying bows around t-shirts for a launch party that was starting in 10 minutes

* Have a designer meet a client in the office on Thanksgiving to deliver some hand-bound notebooks for a very important meeting the next day

* Have our operations director create a matrix to help a client to explain a very complicated invoice to her boss

* Have a client cry because they were so happy with the comps we presented

* Have a client tell us that we made their cheeks hurt because they were smiling so much

Of course, life is not always so happy, but if you really love what you do and who you do it for, it makes it so much easier to get through the hard times. We realize these are hard times for everyone, and we want to assure all of our current and prospective clients that we empathize and take it all into account as we working with you. We want to make you look good. We want you to be successful. We want you to be happy.

Because, after all, we loves ya.
